Over the past thirty years the Aurora Music Festival has grown from a small gathering of Interior schools to a full fledged Festival encompassing many areas of Alaska. Previously know as the Region 2/3 Music Festival, the Aurora Music Festival has been used as a way for students from small schools to sing and perform as part of a large band or choir. It is a proud tradition in many schools and something that all the music students look forward to.
The Aurora Music Festival is a three day event that includes students from sixteen different high schools from thirteen communities across the State. The Aurora Music Festival gives students an opportunity to play music with students from other schools, and to perform in front of a judge to qualify for the Alaska School Activities Association Solo and Ensemble competition.
